APRIL 20th READING
Through the terrible consequences, She found her way back to a relationship with God that made it possible for her to continue to serve Him.
We too can find our way back.
REALIZATION... the first step in finding our way back home.
In our reading today, I zoomed into Luke 15:22-31. A story of a son who got lost willfully and engaged in a reckless lifestyle which squandered his entire inheritance with his father.
"But when he came to himself" Luke 15:17
The realization of all his wrongdoings is why he considered returning. The weight of his sin began to squeeze life out of him and no other suffering could compare. Guilt and pain left him feeling lost.
JESUS FOCUSED ON THE LOST
The boy arised and planned to tell his father...
he has sinned and felt no longer worthy to be call his son.
While making his way home, when he was still a great far off, His father saw him and HAD COMPASSION, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
Jesus looks passed our sin, guilt and shame and focuses only on the lost returning!
The father ran out to him because his excitement was so great over the return of His son. The son was forgiven and accepted back into the home.
The father said in Luke 15:22 "Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet, let us eat and be merry for my son was dead and now is alive again, he was lost and is found, and they began to be marry."
